Blessing Box in Morley

In November, the SCC FBLA began asking community members for a donation of a pantry box that could be used as a Blessing Box to be placed in one of the local communities. Within a month's time, a pantry was donated by the Morley Oaks. That left the issue of where to place the box. After speaking with the City of Morley, a place was located to place the Blessing Box. It took FBLA President, Xander Scherer attending City Council meetings and Mrs. Glasener, FBLA Adviser, writing a letter of support, to get placement for the box. In January, the City Council decided to place the Blessing Box outside of City Hall where it could be monitored.

On January 19, the Blessing Box was placed outside of City Hall and was filled with donations from the FBLA. Within a few weeks the Blessing Box was self-sustaining and even had to have additional shelves put inside so it could hold more items.

The SCC FBLA and FCCLA groups are extremely thankful for the outpouring of support from the community on this project.
